My lidded project is a green cookie jar with splatters of brown and green. For this project, I had to practice sizing using the red tool in order to make my project fit together, which it did quite smoothly. I used the contrast of green and brown to create a sort of disharmony, since I wanted to test how the contrast would affect the viewer of my project, since I tend to stick with more harmonious colors. The intent of the project is to create a minor amount of discomfort in the viewer, as well as show an earthier dimension to my art.

For my wheel planter, I made a white planter with blue details. For this project, I had to practice double pulling without breaking through the bottom of the project. It took me five tries. I chose to use value of the blue on the white to create harmony, and so my planter looked very put together. My planter gives off just a sense of relaxation, because of the way the blues flow into the white and blend together.
For my wheel cup, I made a ridged blue mug with a white interior, and accents of other blues and greens. For this cup project, I had to learn to pull and attach a handle, which wasn't quite perfect, but it was good for my first attempt I believe. I used the ridged texture of my cup to really make a lovely rhythm, and because of that rhythm, my cup is rather aesthetically pleasing. Although I need to practice attaching handles, this my was my first solid wheel project in a long time, which really broke me out of my slump, so I'm grateful for how it turned out. It gives off sort of a placid, nature feeling.
For my vase wheel project, I made a short, blue vase with flecks of black and white. For my vase project, I had to really begin to refine my pulling methods, which, in the past, had left me with bottom heavy projects. I chose to use color to emphasize the unity of my project, since it is a rather abysmal height, but I believe the harmony offsets that quite nicely. Vases and bowls are probably where I struggle the most right now, so this vase is going to serve as a placeholder in my skills, until I make a much better one to show off other, better skills that I will acquire.
My second wheel bowl is a medium sized, blue bowl, with a turquoise ring around the edge. For my bowl project, I really had to practice making the specific bowl shape, since I couldn't really get the curved edge I wanted on the inner part of the bowl. Since my bowl does lack a foot ring, I tried to make the texture look nice and smooth all around using glaze, in order create unity with that missing foot ring. This project really demonstrates to me that bowls are one of my weaknesses, so I'm going to make a really amazing bowl as soon as I can, even if it's just not this one.
